Part of TSR is to choose 5 activities to do at home or at the library. One of those activities is to make a soundtrack for your favorite book. Did you do this activity? Please post your soundtrack to the blog, we librarians would love to read them! (So will other teens!)
I heard that one teen from Jeffersontown Branch Library not only made a soundtrack for his favorite book, Eragon, but he made a CD of that soundtrack. Louisville teens ROCK!
You, of course, don't have to make a CD! If you choose this activity, all you need to do is think of songs that would fit with the book you've chosen to create a soundtrack for; then list those songs on the inside of your TSR folder.

I was going to do a soundtrack for Audrey, Wait!, the YT book I am reading now but it already has quotes from cool rock songs at the beginning of each chapter.
I'll find another book to make a soundtrack for after I finish the book I am reading - I can't wait - I love making mix CD's!

I was going to make a soundtrack for Prince Caspian, but now that it's a movie it already has a soundtrack.
Now I am doing one for the Ninth Pendragon book, Raven Rise, which by the way is an excellent book!

I finished reading Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood. It was really funny and sad; and I can't wait for the movie based on the last books to come out in August.
I just finished Darcy and Elizabeth: nights and Days at Pemberely. It is the sequal to Mr.Darcy Takes a wife which is a sequal to Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen. This book is written by a different author than Pride and Prejudice, but it is one of the best sequals written and the book recieved many praises saying that out of all the Pride and PRejudice sequals this one is the best. It is a difficult book but very enjoyable to read.
Choosing 5 activities gets people to go out and do something with their reading!

the thing that ir relly cool about TSR is that u can do this if your in the 6th grade so now you dont have to do what the little kids do now and you can do your thing, insted of what other people do!!!!

There are a lot of activities to choose form so pick wisely. A lot of the activities are fun and there are like 11 activities to do. You can choose to do 5 or you can do all of them for fun. Plus there is a great activity that tells you can read an other book, so go choose your five activities and have fun!

This program is an awesome program to encourage kids to read during the summer! I have really enjoyed TSR Rocks and it really encourages me to read. I can't wait to get my backpack and hopefully have a chance at winning the iPod Touch!

I like that this year for the summer reading program at the library, there all types of activites to do that caters to all types of teens. For instances if you don't like writing you could design an album and I think thats cool!

i think the library's choice of doing a teen summer reading program is a great way for those of us who have to read books over the summer for school anyway, to take it a few simple steps further and earn some fun prizes. this makes the required summer reading from school a little more inticing with the right incentives.
i really enjoyed the optional activity of checking out a CD - i got to listen to an artist i'd heard a lot about, and now i have some new favorite songs!
I did a book review on a book by Ted Dekker named Skin. It is an oustanding book and I've read many books but this is one of the best. It is about a tragic storm that ends up bringing five people together. A brother and sister, Carey and Nicole; a lady, Wendy; a police officer, Colt; and a gamer, Jerry. They coincidentally end up together in a doctor's library which was less than a mile from his home. All having something in common; they have to find the definition of beauty. To ultimately kill the ugliest. After all the killing by the mysterious murder that ends up being the crazy-guy, Thomas, they find out that the game was what they all had in common. Because they all had a mental condition as kids that could be treated by the game. The world of skin was the setting and was the literal game. It was a world that they were in. What happened in the game-happened in real life. It's a fantastic book and if you like to read good books, this one is one of the best.

This reading program was far to easy for me. I finished it in two days. However i do really like eragon, and i hope that whatever sound track was made for that book was a good one.
TSR rules. I just read Prey written my Lurlene Mcdaniel. It is really sad.
I think the summer reading program is a great idea, even for teens. It gives a reason to read and makes you feel good when you finish your books. You can show off how much you can read by reading big books like Gone With the Wind (great book, btw!)or just stick to shorter books like hatchet(another classic!). But no matter what you choose, you still are reading so it's all good!
I haven't made a sound track or wrote a song yet. But I am reading the invention of hugo cabret by Brian Selznick. That book is really good. I have also read home and other big fat lies. That is also a good book. For my packet I have read my brothera book.

I read Skeleton Key by Anthony Horowitz. It was a really great book. It was very exciting and it kept u entertained the entire time. It was fun making a soundtrack for this book because there are many cool songs to choose from.
TSR is a great program!
Every time I go to the library I allwys need to get a book. I love the computers they tell you if your book is in the library or, it's out, and it tells you, were exactly were your book should be, unless it's checked out.
